Bionicle Building Instructions For Deflex

complete Ubuntu Linux Server with Apache Web Server

Well, this is my first post in Taringa, so let's see how cool. After some experience and deny enough to host a website, let me explain how I managed to do a server using Apache and being behind a router ADSL modem Huawei SmartAX
type models MT880 or MT882
and update a client using IP / Dynamic DNS such as no-ip.org
or dyndns. org. Well, the steps are:
1) Enter the modem configuration page, default is 192.168.1.1, or some may be 10.0.0.1. The default username and password are "admin". Go to Basic NAT (stands for Network Address Translation), you must enable the DMZ (Demilitarized Zone or DMZ) to allow the PC as a server which can be accessed from abroad, simply put the IP private ip of the PC (in my case for example is 192.168.1.123). Then go to Redirect and create a new NAT rule and the configuration is similar to the following: From Global IP: 0.0.0.0 (or leave blank) Global IP To: 0.0.0.0 Destination Port From : 80 (HTTP) Destination Port To: 80 (HTTP) Local Port: 8080 (port which is running the Apache, the default is 80, but must be changed to does not interfere with the router configuration page)
2) Configure Apache as virtual server. To do this you must edit the apache configuration file, in the case of Windows is in the folder where you installed the Apache CONF folder, eg
httpd.conf file:
c: \\ apache \\ conf \\
httpd.conf.
(I recommend making a backup before modifying!).
Well, the lines have to appear are (have to arrange them for you)
- 8080 is the port as I mentioned earlier, can also use the 443 which is the HTTPS (Secured HTTP "

, but any event that matches what they put in the NAT.
- ServerName: the domain name, corroborate whether with or without "www" because it is the same (they are different domains),
not put the part of "http://" and do not put the port as eg "www.aldfj.com:8080." Listen

8080 ....yahoo.com.ar ServerAdmin ServerName ... ServerRoot "C: / xampp / apache"
DocumentRoot "C: / xampp / htdocs" DirectoryIndex index.php

3) Raise the Apache and see if goes well, for it go to Explorer or q browser to keep and make

http://ip:8080

eg, in my case would http://192.168.1.123:8080
Another way would be to use a scanner program port (eg, which comes with
Net Tools) or else I recommend is the
"TCP VIEW"
that shows all open ports on your PC. In the private IP on your LAN must have opened the port 8080 (or 443 or their choice) and the public IP (which gives no-ip or dyndns) have to be open 80. Obviously also putting CTRL-ALT-DEL (Task Manager), must be the Apache.exe in the process list.

Part of DMZ and NAT depends on modem firmware in some this may not appears, but instead has a "Virtual Server" or "Remote Management" by what I read in some forums. They are not going to occur under any circumstances to update the modem firmware by downloading one of the Internet as I did and I left it completely unusable (I have read of others who did the same).

With this method, the web site will be accessible only by putting the web address in your browser from outside your local network. Within your LAN, can access as I mentioned earlier as
http://iplocal:8080.

As a final remark, note that enabling DMZ could mean a "reduction" of the security level of your PC, but bue, I so far had no problems.

Oka, is all.
Enjoy Yourselves!

Footnotes:
i) The most popular ADSL modems from Huawei, at least in my area are:
MT810: USB output (not applicable for the post)
MT880: exit MT882
Ethernet: Both USB and Ethernet outputs

ii) This method does not apply to those who have internet through a
ISP or cable modem with wireless internet as they would have to configure the router
your ISP that is inaccessible.

iii) Some acronyms:
- DNS = Domain Name Server - LAN = Local Area Network - NAT = Network Address Translation - DMZ = Demilitarized Zone - IP = Internet protoclo
- Tranfer Control Protocol TCP =
- HTTP = HyperText Transfer Protocol
- ADSL = Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line
- ISP = Internet Service Provider
